v0.1 draft

Getting Started with Fungal Electrophysiology Data Structure

The goal of FEDS is to help researchers organize raw fungal electrophysiology data into a validated, shareable structure using only open, non-proprietary tools.

    1. Validate Your Data

Before you do anything else, try the validator.

Drag-and-drop a dataset folder or .zip archive to check whether it conforms to the FEDS specification. If the dataset passes validation, it is already FEDS-compliant—no further action is required.

    Open the FEDS Validator

    2. Convert Your Data (If Needed)

If your dataset does not pass validation, map lab-specific CSV or binary formats into FEDS using your own scripts or a lightweight Python template.

    • No proprietary software
    • No complex dependencies
    • Uses standard Python libraries (json, csv)

Note: This step does not clean, filter, or interpret data. It only maps raw measurements and metadata into the FEDS structure.

Exporting from InfluxDB or similar time-series stores? See the draft recipe InfluxDB → FEDS (also in the repository under docs/).

A public conversion template repository will be linked here once the spec repository is published.
