Community and Governance

Fungal Electrophysiology Data Structure is an early draft specification published to gather feedback from researchers working with fungal electrophysiology data. There is not yet an established adopting community, governance body, or set of certified tools—those are outcomes this draft is meant to help shape.

How to Contribute (Proposed)

• Review the draft — Read the specification and test the validator on your data.
• Send feedback — Email [email protected] with ambiguities, missing fields, or use cases.
• Propose semantic extensions — Follow the proposed FEP process

Proposed Governance Process

• The core specification is versioned and intended to change slowly once adopted.
• Published versions should be treated as stable reference points.
• Core changes should follow open discussion, documented rationale, and deprecation cycles.
• Extensions are the preferred path for biological semantics and lab-specific metadata.
• No single maintainer or lab should control semantic meaning for the field.

These are proposed principles, not an enacted governance charter. A public decision log and issue tracker will be linked here once the specification repository is published.
